Definition of sociolinguistics is the study of the reationship between language and society.
There are many definition fo sociolinguistics according to experts, Hudson(1996) said sociolinguistics is the study of language in relation to society .
There is 2 types of sociolinguistics that are sociolinguistics and sociology in language
1. sociolinguistics it's main focus is society on language based on our own languange.
2. sociology of language it's main focus is language effect in society
sociolinguist brings together linguists and sociologist to investigate matters of join concern but they are not the only researchers involved in studies language in society
